How the Gothic Lockpick Solver handles (and doesn't handle) your data

Introduction

The Gothic Lockpick Solver is a free, fan-made tool for the lockpicking puzzles in Gothic 1 Remake. This policy explains what data the site handles — and how little of it there is.

Data We Do Not Collect

The solver runs entirely in your browser:

  • Lock configurations (plate positions, links) are never uploaded to any server.
  • We do not require accounts, logins, or email addresses.
  • We do not collect names, addresses, or payment information.
  • We do not sell or share personal data, because we do not collect any.

Data Stored on Your Device

  • Shared links: when you use "Copy share link", your lock configuration is encoded into the URL itself. It exists in the link and in your browser history — nowhere else.
  • Theme preference: your light/dark mode choice is stored in your browser's local storage.

Automatic Technical Data

Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical logs — IP addresses, request times, user agents — for security and delivery purposes. This is handled under Cloudflare's privacy policy and is not used by us for tracking or advertising.

Analytics and Advertising

  • The site carries no advertising.
  • We do not use cross-site tracking cookies or ad networks.

Third-Party Content

  • The game page links to external sites (Steam, THQ Nordic) which have their own privacy policies.
  • The Gothic key art used on this site is the property of THQ Nordic and is used for identification of the supported game only.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
